As the media landscape evolved—especially in recent decades—WMFE recognized the need to reimagine its brand. The goal: to reflect the full scope of its journalism, move beyond the identity of a radio station and NPR affiliate, and affirm its role as a trusted, independent news source for Central Florida’s diverse community.
To do so, WMFE needed a name that addressed public mistrust in media, clarified its nonprofit status, and positioned the organization as a modern, multi-platform community voice that listens, informs, and connects.
